Race Plates
What you need to order, how to get your race number, and where UK riders buy their plates.
Do I need a race plate?
You only need a permanent race plate to race at British Cycling Regional or National level. At Runnymede Rockets club races we issue temporary numbers on the day, so a plate is optional for club-level riding. Once you start travelling to South Region rounds or the National Series you'll need a front plate and two side plates fitted to your bike.
Your BMX race number
Your race number is the last three digits of your British Cycling membership number. For example, if your BC number is RTC1234567, your race number is 567. The number follows you year to year as long as your membership stays active, so plates are a one-time order until your size changes.
